LONG ISLAND COMICS has been in business since March 15, 1977.  Originally known as "The Batcave", the store changed its name to L. I. COMICS in 1982. Owner Frank Verzyl has been collecting comics since 1959, and is listed as an advisor to the Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide.

    We carry a huge stock of both vintage and new comic books (over 150,000 back issues in stock), and we will try to help you hunt down whatever hard-to-find back issues you may be looking for. We also carry a complete line of hi-quality comics collector's supplies (4 different sizes of comic book bags & boards, and storage boxes in 3 different widths and lengths).

    Long Island Comics carries all the brand new releases from Marvel, DC, Image, Dark Horse and the alternate press companies. If we don't normally stock a title you want, we'll special order it for you!  Take advantage of our FREE New Comics Reserve system and have all of your favorite new titles reserved for you each week in advance!

    We also sell rare Golden and Silver Age comics on eBay (visit our eBay site under seller's name "licomics").  Selling your collection?  We will sell whatever valuable comics you may have, on consignment.

    We are Long Island's longest-running comic book store, being continually in operation since 1977. No other comics store can make that claim.  "Long Island Comics" is also the only "true comic book store" on the island, since we sell only new and vintage comic books, and don't clutter our floor space with baseball cards, toys or annoying role-playing game tournaments. The "Long Island Voice" newspaper voted us "#1 Best True Comic Book Store on Long Island", and that's even truer than ever today!
